Cranial Sacral Therapy

Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the function of the craniosacral system. This system is made up of the membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

CST utilizes a soft touch no greater than 5 grams to the cranial bones and all along the spine to release tension and blockages in the craniosacral system. When these blockages and tension are removed, the function of central nervous system is inhanced, the membranes surrounding the nervous system can relax, and the body's natural healing processes can restore what imbalances have developed in the body. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to increase resistance to disease, and decrease pain and dysfunction associated with many conditions including:

  • Migraine Headaches
  • Chronic Neck and Back Pain
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
  • Scoliosis
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Emotional Difficulties
  • Stress and Tension-Related Problems
  • Fibromyalgia and other Connective-Tissue Disorders
  • Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)
  • Neurovascular or Immune Disorders
  • Post-Surgical Dysfunction
